Necromancer Pro - Soulmaster Quest
Soulmaster - Pro Quest | Soulmaster - Pro Intro |
"Hymn of the Styx" — A mysterious ancient scripture passed down from antiquity. It is both the origin of all knowledge and heritage of Necromancers, as well as the manifestation of soul laws in the material world. The Necromancer tradition began with its appearance, and every Necromancer practices necromancy by studying the secrets recorded in "Hymn of the Styx".
However, even the longest hymn must eventually come to an end. As the old verses were fully deciphered, a sense of confusion arose among Necromancers — without the guidance of the sacred hymn, where should their next step lead?
Finally, one day, as one of the foremost Necromancers of your time, you suddenly gained enlightenment during meditation, vaguely touching upon a new realm beyond the records of the sacred hymn.
At this moment, new words slowly emerged in the blank spaces at the end of "Hymn of the Styx" before you, unveiling this new realm — when a Necromancer ascends to this supreme state, they can command countless souls and become Soulmaster.
Soul theories that could overturn previous understanding plunged you into confusion, and you urgently sought opportunities to practice and verify them. Thus, you chose to go to that battlefield where death occurs constantly — the front lines where the Kingdom clashes with the demonic forces — to train, attempting to comprehend the essence of souls and the secrets recorded in the new chapter by walking between life and death.
Upon arriving at the battlefield, you witnessed a squad of Kingdom soldiers struggling in battle against demons that outnumbered them several times over. You decided to help these soldiers defending their homeland repel the enemies before making further plans.
The demons were quickly repelled by necromancy, and the squad's captain, Baldur, expressed his gratitude and invited you to their camp for rest. Considering that you were there for battlefield training, you agreed to accompany the soldiers.
However, during your interactions with the soldiers, you noticed that Baldur's deputy, a Kingdom officer named Andrew, showed inexplicable distrust and even hostility toward you. It turned out that Andrew's hometown had been destroyed by a Necromancer who had fallen into dark arts and joined the demonic forces. You expressed some sympathy and prepared for the next battle.
By the next day, however, the situation changed dramatically. Enemies shrouded in thick death energy stormed the battlefield, plunging the battle into crisis. These undead were called "Apostles of Death," and their master was none other than the traitor Necromancer Zalsak, who had destroyed Andrew's hometown.
Blinded by rage, Andrew led some soldiers into enemy lines to avenge his family but ended up surrounded. The remaining Kingdom soldiers, unable to withstand the fierce assault, had to retreat temporarily under Baldur's command.
As Baldur and you discussed how to counterattack and rescue Andrew and the others, the enemies seen earlier on the battlefield — Zalsak's minions, the "Apostles of Death" — shadowed the Kingdom's forces and launched an attack on their camp.
In the chaos of battle, something strange became apparent. Among the attacking Apostles of Death, some wore the armor of Kingdom soldiers, and their leader bore a familiar face — Andrew, who had been surrounded by demons earlier.
It turned out that after being trapped, Andrew had been killed by Zalsak, and his soul had been enslaved, turning him into an Apostle of Death who obeyed his former enemy's commands, raising his blade against his former comrades. You had no choice but to subdue him first and then consider how to save him and the other Apostles.
However, Andrew's soul had been deeply corrupted by Zalsak's necromancy. At this moment, the only way to save Andrew was through the secrets recorded in the new chapter of the sacred hymn. The profound power you had not yet fully mastered touched upon the essence of souls, capable of completely reshaping the corrupted souls of Andrew and the other soldiers. But if anything went wrong, their souls would dissipate entirely, unable to even return to the Styx and re-enter the cycle of reincarnation.
At this moment, Andrew, having regained some semblance of consciousness, volunteered to be the test subject for your experiment. Witnessing his determination and remorse, you began to touch his soul, attempting to reshape it and remove the corruption.
After arduous effort, you succeeded. Andrew and the other soldiers were freed from corruption and control, allowing them to pass into reincarnation. Before departing, Andrew apologized once more and urged you to use this power to turn the tide of battle. Through this experience, you finally gained a deeper understanding of the secrets recorded in the new chapter.
The next day, you and Baldur led the Kingdom soldiers back to the battlefield, launching a fierce assault on the traitor Zalsak's stronghold.
Zalsak commanded his Apostles of Death to attack, but you continuously wielded necromantic arts, transforming each defeated Apostle into an undead warrior fighting alongside you. At your call, they rejoined the ranks of the Kingdom soldiers, standing with their former comrades in arms one last time.
When you led this undead army before Zalsak, the traitor asked in disbelief — why was the power he had gained by siding with demons and performing dark rituals so easily countered?
You gave him the answer: You did not seek power for ambition or to dominate others. What drove you forward was the pure belief in protecting your people and homeland.
And perhaps, it was precisely this pure, untainted conviction that allowed you to glimpse the mysteries of a higher realm and ultimately gain the recognition of the laws governing souls.
In the end, the traitor fell under the assault of the countless souls he had once enslaved, and the Kingdom won the battle. Bearing the immense power to command ten thousand souls, you resolved to use this strength to safeguard the peace of every soul...
